Dr. John Riehl, MD
Dr. Riehl attended medical school in Philadelphia, PA at Temple University School of Medicine where he obtained a robust clinical experience and foundation in medicine. He then performed his orthopaedic surgery residency in central Pennsylvania at Geisinger Medical Center. It was here that Dr. Riehl and Dr. Lutton first met, and a dynamic partnership was formed. Dr. Lutton and Dr. Riehl discovered very early on their propensity to work well together and accomplish difficult tasks, from complex surgeries to writing and publishing. After residency Dr. Riehl completed subspecialty training in complex trauma/fracture care at Orlando Regional Medical Center. After his training was completed, Dr. Riehl went into practice at the University of Louisville where he was an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery and was quickly made the associate residency program director as a result of his affinity for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Riehl received the award of the Best Faculty Educator of the residents two years in a row while at the University of Louisville. He then took his orthopaedic skills to Florida and the gulf coast for nearly 7 years. During that time, he also began working at a trauma center in eastern KY as the director of orthopaedic trauma. Dr. Riehl currently lives and practices in Dallas/Fort Worth. He has been part of clinical faculty at universities throughout his career where he has contributed to research and education. He works as an editor/reviewer for three orthopaedic journals and an industry leading orthopaedic educational website. Dr. Riehl has developed and implemented treatment protocols at several institutions throughout his career that have improved patient care. He now brings his training and education, along with the expertise of Dr. Lutton, to you to help you on your path to better health.
Dr. Jeffrey Lutton, MD
Dr. Lutton was born and raised in Pottstown, PA. He attended college at Villanova University where he majored in Chemistry and was awarded the prestigious Mendel Medallion (a designation for the highest ranked student in that major). Dr. Lutton played rugby while at college and was very active in volunteer endeavors. He attended medical school at Georgetown University with the plans of becoming a cardiologist, but fell in love with orthopaedic surgery in his 3rd year of medical school and those plans changed significantly. Dr. Lutton was introduced to the concept of cura personalis (Latin for care of the whole person) while at Georgetown and that has formed the foundation of his medical practice to this day. He underwent specialty training in orthopaedic surgery at Geisinger Medical Center where he encountered many great mentors who pushed him to reach his potential and helped him to establish strong surgical skills. At Geisinger he was challenged to always strive for evidence based practice and to stay on the cutting edge of orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Lutton went into practice in 2011 in Chambersburg, PA and quickly became a local sensation. He has touched the lives and helped many members of his community. Dr. Lutton (as is the case with Dr. Riehl) is known by many of his patients and colleagues to have a superb bedside manner. He is highly skilled in joint replacement surgery and general musculoskeletal care. Dr. Lutton and Dr. Riehl genuinely care about people and their general health, which has inspired them to bring the Intelligent Carb lifestyle to you.
